Resolution on establishment of Yenisey Siberia Scientific and Educational Centre in Krasnoyarsk Territory signed

On 19 December, the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Alexander Uss signed an agreement on the establishment of the Yenisey Siberia Scientific and Educational Centre (SEC) of the highest world-class standards. Siberian Federal University, Krasnoyarsk, will become the Centre’s base.

One of the highest priority tasks of the Science national projects is to create a Russian unified network of at least 15 scientific and educational centres. The main goal of their creation is the development of science and production in the latest innovation spheres to the international level. This is supposed to be achieved by means of the research, inventions in priority areas of scientific and technological development, cross-sectoral platforms, capabilities of universities, scientific organizations, industry and business.

In addition, the Yenisey Siberia SEC will accelerate the usage of the fourth industrial revolution technologies to increase the efficiency of the real economy of the Yenisey Siberia regions – the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Republic of Khakassia and the Republic of Tyva. The efforts of leading scientific schools and groups will be concentrated on the research and development providing accelerated technological development of key sectors of the macroregion, and modernization of Russian higher and vocational education. They will also assist in the creation and comprehensive development of a joint scientific, educational and innovative infrastructure of the SEC members and the implementation of national priority projects. 

The priority areas of the scientific and technological development include rocket and space technologies, geological exploration and mining, non-ferrous metallurgy, oil and gas complex, instrument-making and machinery manufacturing, rational management of nature resources and ecological systems, and biomedical technologies. The scientific researches in this areas are currently in progress in the Siberian Federal University, some grants and patents for inventions have been received.

Part of the SEC content base will be the projects selected as a result of a competition for the best projects of interdisciplinary fundamental scientific research conducted by the Russian Foundation for Basic Research, the Government of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the enterprises with their registered office in the Krasnoyarsk Territory or participating in the Yenisey Siberia Comprehensive Investment Project.

They include ‘Methodological approaches to creating institutional infrastructure of the digital economy as a system-forming phenomenon of the Yenisey Siberia digital ecosystem’, ‘Geological and genetic model of the Ak-Sug deposit as a reference copper-porphyry object of the East Sayan metallogenic province’ and a number of other projects.
