Projects of the Yenisey Siberia Comprehensive Investment Project have been presented at Russia-Qatar Joint Committee for Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation

On November 20, the fourth meeting of Russia-Qatar Joint Committee for Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation was held, co-presided by Alexander Novak, Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, and Ali bin Ahmed Al-Kuwari, Minister of Commerce and Industry of Qatar. The cooperation development discussion was participated by representatives of the authorities, development institutions and businesses of both countries. A number of expert consultations and negotiations were held in the intergovernmental commission format; the Plan for development of trading and economic, scientific and technical, and humanitarian cooperation for the years 2019-2023 was signed.

Alexander Novak highlighted the achieved level of the relationships between the two countries. “Qatar is one of the strategic partners of Russia in the Middle East. We have developed trusting relationships, we are committed to develop our partnership in various areas. Doubtlessly, our efforts provide the momentum for a closer and multifaceted cooperation between the countries”, emphasized the Minister of Energy of Russia.

At the plenary session, Deputy Chairman of the Government of Krasnoyarsk Region Sergey Vereshchagin gave a speech on the Yenisey Siberia Comprehensive Investment Project and the priority cooperation projects. Thanks to its successful experience in the delivery of large-scale projects, Krasnoyarsk Region is holding leading positions in a number of industries. Further development of the region is associated with the delivery of the Yenisey Siberia Comprehensive Investment Project in the territory of Krasnoyarsk Region, the Republic of Khakassia and the Republic of Tuva.

Sergei Vereshchagin presented information on the promising logistic and mineral extraction projects, encompassed into the Yenisey Siberia Comprehensive Investment Project, and being of great interest for foreign companies. Qatar businesses and governmental funds were invited to participate in the projects as strategic partners. Sergei Vereshchagin also remarked that there is a number of other deep mineral processing and transport infrastructure projects of the Yenisey Siberia seeking foreign investment. The Qatar representatives expressed their interest in the cooperation upside; as a result, it was agreed to present the Yenisey Siberia Comprehensive Investment Project to the potential partners in Doha in 2020.
